This poem was written by a member of the Post showing their emotions after holding the flag of The United States of America in honor of our troops overseas.

Fifteen Minutes

“Fifteen minutes equals nine hundred seconds. As I
proudly held the American Flag at the vigil, I
began to think about those nine hundred seconds.
I’m sure that each second felt like fifteen minutes
to our fallen and feels like fifteen minutes to our
present troops who are fighting for our freedom
today. As the wind picked up I had to Hold on
tighter to that flag pole. I thought about our troops
holding on to what they must accomplish. As the
flag gently brushed by my face for a second, I
wondered if it would return past my face again. I
wondered what was going on in the minds of our
troops. They are brushed by enemy fire every day.
I’m sure they are waiting to return home! I feel
much honored to hold that flag for

“Nine Hundred Seconds”.
